BLOG#2 RACIST or NOT?
Hey everybody! I made a mistake on the blog i post last time. It didn't answer the question so here's what i think. I don't think Joseph Conrad is racist like all my group members said. Conrad's Heart of Darkness is based on Conrad's journey up the Congo River. He learned about atrocities made by Congo "explorers", and created in the character of Kurtz known as the embodiment of European imperialism. The heart of darkness is the symbol of Marlow’s journey into truth and discovery. Conrad shows Kurtz as a representative of Europe’s men. Towards the end of the story, Kurtz is found to be an artist, a great intellectual, a lover, and a writer. By describing all of these attributes of Kurtz, it shows that Conrad is a great man and not racist. He is just writing about his experiences!

I like what you have to say, but please either paraphrase or put in quotes things like "Kurtz known as the embodiment of European imperialism"... this is technically plagiarism. Be very careful with this.
